Younique Business Review – Is This A Smart Choice For Female Entrepreneurs?
Hi there again … so I decided to do a Younique Business Review today, as I have heard a lot of buzz around this company lately. Especially their most popular product, the 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara. You may have seen images like this popping up here and there around social media.
Well … being a female entrepreneur and a confessing makeup junkie …. I just had to take a look *twist my arm … ok ok I’ll check it out.
Younique Business Review – What I Discovered
So let me tell you what I initially thought I’d find … I basically thought I’d find another mlm or direct sales cosmetics company where someone coaxed you into coming to a home party , hotel room meeting or something like that. And mind you, I’m not entirely against those things, but being a busy mom “Aint nobody got time for that!”
Younique Business Review -The Pleasant Surprise
I found that Younique is the first cosmetic company that encourages it’s “Presenters” to run their businesses solely from their homes (or where ever you can take your smart phone or laptop) on Social Media. Instead of the more traditional “Home Party”. However should someone choose to host home parties it is more than acceptable with the company. What ever floats your boat sister! So lets take a look at the Pro’s of operating online ….
First direct-sales company to market and sell almost exclusively through the use of social media. Our pioneered Younique Virtual Parties bridge the huge world of social media and the traditional home-party business model. A Younique Virtual Party has no limits to your reach or who you can invite. This makes it so the traditional home party is not even necessary unless you choose to do it. We provide the innovative and interactive tools and invite you to tap into your own resources and connections that you already have. You can run your own business from the comfort of your own home without ever having to physically have people in your home…. This was super appealing to me in the beginning however I found after almost 2 years many of these “online parties” were not getting the sales I had hoped, so I had to go out and do some more marketing such as one on one’s vendor shows etc… eventually you have to find other means to sell and share your products. I have an Online Marketing Group If you would like some tips, you can join here free.
Younique Business Review The Pro’s
- Selling Initially Almost Exclusively Online
- Free Interactive Website
- No Auto-Ships Required
- No Stocking Of Inventory Required
- Instant Royalties Paid to a Younique Visa Card (issued by the company at no cost)
Why I like this? I like this because In the past I was involved with a few network marketing companies that only let you promote their products via home parties and they frowned upon any sort of promotion via the internet. But with today’s very High-Techy world most of the friends I know actually prefer to shop from home in their pj’s etc… and it also saves on driving, gas and fuel costs, not to mention often times “party hosts” will feel obligated to have their homes cleaned to perfection and prepare light snacks. This business model takes all of that out of the equation.
*Note* as I mentioned above this used to work very well, however in recent months with the explosion of so many Younique Presenters and people being added to so many sales groups on Facebook … many of these great Facebook parties are not as responsive as they were at first, so you have to find a way to “Spice up your parties!” For example do themed parties or fun giveaways etc…
Younique Business Review – The Cons
- To Stay Active You Need to Sell $125 every 3 months.
- Not Leaping Bunny Certified
- Some products did not live up to high end standards in my opinion as a makeup artist … but I do like their mascara and they have many other lovely products!
- The company has gotten a bit spammy online but only because perhaps the presenter has not been educated in how to effectively market 🙂
- The Original mascara was better and then they switched it and many ladies lost a lot of customers … so far the mascara has changed 3 times. I have yet to try the 3rd but am willing to!
- Their Presenter Agreement has very strict rules and regulations… Very Strict! At one point they wanted rights to my blog & it was at this point that I left the company.
- They will ask for access to your Facebook Profile in order for you to sell through online parties … this will give them access toyour personal information and friends on Facebook.
They are in several countries as of the writing of this article. Those countries are the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, UK, and Mexico, France, Spain, Hong Kong & Italy.
Younique Business Review – The Compensation Plan
So with all that said lets take a look at the Comp Plan … Show me the money!
The commissions and or royalties you get paid start at 20% and can go up to 36% with the “possibility” of going 4 levels deep. See the Pictures Below for all the details … and once you reach the “Yellow Level” You will NEVER earn less than $25%!
Younique Business Review _ Final Word
Over all I have to say that Younique is a good fit for some ladies and for some it may not be. But if you love the products and comp plan, hey go for it!
